Need Help about Admissions
Hi guys,
Recently I moved to Maryland, US from Canada.(November, 2004). I am a senior now and I need some information about college admissions. I am planning to apply to University of Maryland (Baltimore County or College Park) and Rudgers University, New Jersey. I want to major in Pre-Medicine. Right now, my cumulative G.P.A is 3.9 and I am taking the SAT I in November. I haven't taken SAT II and I don't think those universities require them. I don't have many extra curricular activities. Do I have any chance of getting into one of these universities???? And are they good for my major...Please help me.. Last edited by arun2005 : 09-11-2005 at 12:45 AM. |

Rutgers/University of Maryland - College Park and Baltimore County are nationally recognized universities so you shouldn't have trouble finding lack of resources and staff dealing with pre-medical studies. Remember, pre-med is not a major, but a set of courses you must take in order to do well on the MCAT - Medical College Admissions Test - and meet admissions requirements set by many medical schools. Major in swahili if you want - as long as you take the required core you will be fine. Since your list seems to comprise of large state-schools your lack of extracurricular activites should not hurt you - SAT/ACT score, GPA and recommendations will likely be the most important. If you can fill in some of the blanks (practice SAT scores, list of extra curricular activites, etc...) I or someone else cannot accurately give you an opinion - Good Luck! P.S. If you are having trouble studying for the SAT, visit the SAT sub-forum we would gladly help you with any trouble you may have.

Please contact the colleges you are interested in if whether or not they would consider you an international or not; some colleges have different policies so asking more than one would give you a firm answer.
