Career advice
Hello I am new in this forum, but I hope this is the right one for my post.
I am currently working on my A-Levels in England, but I am originally from Germany and came to an English boarding school last September. I am planning to follow a career in the area of high level management as an economist or managing director. My question is what route to post-graduation is the best to take? At the moment I am looking at schools like LSE, Cambridge and Oxford in England as well as at the prestigious American universities of the Ivy league which heard of a lot (Harvard, Yale). I was told that doing the undergraduate program in England and the post-graduate in the US or the other way round is a very good combination to get the top jobs. At the moment it seems that I will get the following result for AS Level: A - Math A - Physics A - German (1st Language) A or B - Business Studies A or B - Psychology A or B - Further Math and A - GSCE English Language In addition to that I have to offer a lot a lot of extra curricular activities (sport, music, social) and good letters of recommendation. Soon I will have to apply for universities; therefore a lot of questions arise. It would be very nice if you could help me with some of them. Considering all that what do you think what universities should I go for at undergraduate level and how are my chances (especially at US universities)? What would you recommend for the admissions process and would be a good thing to do to add to my CV? What route gets me into the highest positions in business (what universities in what order, what degree programs etc)? Do you have any other useful advice? An answer of any kind would help me a lot with the planning of my future life. |
