Dear Friends,
I have recently completed my 11th Grade studies. As I want to get started with my engineering studies as soon as possible, I had been looking for universities offering accelerated programs. While searching, I came to know about Clarkson University located in Potsdam, NY which is offering such a program. They enroll the students into engineering studies right after 11th grade. In the first year, the students are sent to The Clarkson School, a division of Clarkson University where they are taught 12th grade subjects + first year engineering subject. Fortunately, I got admission in this university. I just want to have some comments from you if it is a good idea to join this university and what is the rating of this university? Please do help me making this decision. At this point, let me tell you that Clarkson University is considered the Best College of Year 2001 and 2002 according to US News Magazine. Can any of you help me find some other universities located either in USA or Canada offering the same type of accelerated programs? Waiting for your replies. Thanks in anticipation. Lost Soldier. |

To be honest, not many of my students out here do that kind of program, but some of the popular engineering schools out here might have them, such as Cal Poly. I think you should just contact the schools you are most interested in to see if they offer such programs. BTW, do you know what kind of Engineering you're interested in? I have a student studying with me right now, a great, great guy, who's applying for Environmental Engineering programs, and he's done a lot of research into schools. HTH!! Erin Has TestMagic helped you alot? Please help others as they have helped you. Please? Please? |

Dear Erin,
Yes! I am very much certain about the field in which I am going to pursue my engineering degree. I am interested in Computer and Electrical Engineering. I have been involved in serious computing right from the age of 11 and also hold a number of computer certifications. I got admission in FALL SEMESTER at Clarkson University but unfortunately, my VISA has been refused. Now, I have submitted an appeal requesting reconsideration of my VISA application and I will also get the I-20 for next semester soon. I am quite depressed and worried because of the decision taken by embassy but I have heard that it's the current policy of US Embassy and all europeon countries that they are no more issuing any VISAs to people from Pakistan. The reason stated for my VISA refusal is quite weird i.e., I must do my 12th grade. I told them that the program in which I am getting enrolled does not have any such requisites but received no positive answer from interviewer. Anyway, I am looking forward to getting a reply from US Embassy on my appeal. Lets hope for the best.:-) Thanks and Bye! Lost Soldier. Edited by - lostsoldier on 2002 Aug 10 04:09:51 |
