UMD admitted me to 2nd choice of major

Hello,

I got an admit from UMD , but they gave me admission to Math major instead of Aerospace engineering , which was my first choice. I contacted them and they said because my transfer credits are still being evaluated I havent been admitted to aerospace yet.

This is what they replied

They are not telling me if once the courses are evaluated i will get into aerospace for sure. Has anyone had any similar experiences ? I am a transfer student.
Also the last date to accept admission in May 3rd, looking at the speed at which they are going, I dont think they will have a decision by then .

Any advice from current umd students will be appreciated!
