    Suggestions on MISM

    My Qualifications:
-Computer Engineering Bachelor's,Overall GPA is poor. 54% in Indian terms. Passed second class. In the final year I did better though, 70%. On a 4 scale, GPA would come to 2.16 right? But I think my GPA is more towards 3.0+. Confused there.
    - 5 years working as a SAP BI developer with TATA.
    - I have lead a few projects,am a certified PMP from PMI,green belt in six sigma and SCJP.
    - I am going through my last semester of my correspondence MBA(distance). I did this in finance because I have trouble understanding their concepts when working on finance modules. My MBA has gone well. 'A' grade till now.
    - GRE score Q-780. V-740. AWA - 5.0.

What are my chances at the MISM at CMU, especially the one year program?
Am I aiming too high there? What are masters programs in Information systems Mgmt that I should aiming for given my shady past?
After my masters I would like to pursue a doctorate in management. CMU's course is pretty much poised for the industry and not for academia. And I would like to put time into masters and not go straight for a PhD

    No Issues

    1. Don't convert your Indian score to GPA. Ever. Nobody cares. Everybody understands %age.
    2. You have "convincing" background except GPA. Should not be hard for you. BI background is valued.
    3. Your GRE score is good. No issues there.
    4. Try Kelley and TAMU as safe bets
    5. CMU MISM is poised for Industry. Yes. Ask specific questions because I don't know what are you expecting as an answer. You and only you need to make that choice.
    6. If I ask you this question, "Your GPA is low but what else is so good about you that i should give you an admission? Are you good at anything else that CONVINCES me to ignore your GPA?" Do you have an answer? If you do, PORTRAY it in your SOP.
    7. Get "good but feasible" Recommendations.
