UT Dallas did give a 50% tuition waiver to someone in this forum, but that caught me by surprise since I had never heard of them doing that before. As you may know, Utah sometimes gives a TA waiver before enrollment to some MS admits, though some PhD admits get nothing to start. Regarding cost of tuition, as you may know, most state schools in NY and TX are cheaper. However, getting a TA, GA, or RA after the first semester seems very difficult at UT Dallas, USC, and other such schools that have a large number of international students. (UT Dallas has way over 400 MS students.) More info on NLP: http://www.urch.com/forums/computer-...tml#post819092 (Machine learning PhD questions) Quote:
But I don't know what their funding is like, so maybe it's worthwhile, afterall.

Hi CalmLogic,
Thanks very much for your feedback. I know univs you have mentioned are way too good for NLP/CL but I can't afford them and my profile is no way close to getting admitted into any of them. So I am not going to apply to those univs at all. I want to get into Univ of Pittsburgh or Utah. Do you think thats possible or too ambi for my profile ? Pl comment. Thanks and Best Wishes, Supraja J |
