pre-GRE evaluation please
I am planning on taking the GRE's this month, but before I go insane studying for them, I just want to get an idea of whether or not I have realistic chances of getting into Cornell (Cornell is my #1 choice)
Current School: SUNY Fredonia Major: Computer Science with concentration in Computer Theory Minor: Philosophy GPA: currently 3.88 (out of 4.0) Publications: I have three conference publications, but the conferences were all in biology (I was working with a biologist on a project, but the work I did involved math and other nerdy computer stuff) Presentations: I have given 2 presentations at the Research Expo on campus, both Computer Science related. Work Experience: I worked 2 summers at a local defense contracting agency (that has offices all over the world) as a Desktop Engineer. I have a list of schools I plan on applying to, but my biggest concern is Cornell, because I REALLY want to go there (there M.Eng program sounds perfect for me). So, the question stands, What are my chances of getting into the M.Eng. program at Cornell? (If need be, assume I get a 1200 on the GRE) (also note: I know Cornell lacks funding for M.Eng. students, but this is not a huge concern for me because their program sounds awesome, and I am willing to pay [*sigh* ])Thank you so much! |
