CS PhD Spring/Fall 2008

hi all,

I plan to apply for PhD in CS next year. Please help me if the schools I pick suit my profile. I really need full aid. Any comments are appreciated:
B.Tech 3.86 / 4.0
TOEFL: 293/300, 6 (taken Jan 2005)
GRE General : 800 / 460 / 4.5
TA exp: 1 semester
Int'l Papers: 1 conference (3rd author, not related to what I want to do research in), 1 good workshop (lead author, related)
Masters degree by Research (will be finished by the application deadline)
And the schools:

University of Maryland College Park
University of Southern California
University of California - San Diego
Northwestern University
University of California - Santa Barbara
Rutgers State University - New Brunswick
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Indiana University
Boston University
Arizona State University
University of Central Florida
George Washington University
Wayne State University
Illinois Institute of Technology
University of Maryland - Baltimore County

Thanks a lot.

nice list but even I wud agree with others ... finding replacements for IIT,Wayne State, etc. may be gud for u (regarding Indiana Univ --> a senior who had gone there said it wud be OK for an MS but better avoid going there for PhD ... a university like Oregon State may be better to do ur PhD ) ... i was curious abt RPI ... how's the CS Dept (e.g. ranking, reputation, placements, etc.)

Thank you all very much for your advices.
The only thing i'm a bit concerned is that I didn’t do Data Structure back then (it was not offered, i didnt know why). Would it be a serious flaw in my application?

Thanks again.

I have a friend of mine there at Indiana, Bloomington. He has been more than happy doing his PhD there.
