The overall acceptance rate to the engineering grad school is approximately 30% from US News. This includes Phd so I can't imagine it'll be any lower than that for MSCS.

For example, I got in this year and I didn't realistically think I would. I'll be going in Fall. Just give yourself a chance and apply.

Yes! I think work experience is highly valued. That's probably the reason Stanford was willing to overlook my low GPA. I had two years full time after graduating and 2 years part-time internships while I was going to school at two Fortune 500 companies. In my opinion, Stanford is a more business/entrepreneurial oriented school.

My stats: 1600 on the GRE. Major in Computer Science and Minor in Management. 3.45 Overall Gpa. Excellent recs. Honors Research Thesis.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
