priyankam,
I don't know but that won't stop me from replying For finding a safety school, you may want to try the US News & World Report search feature:usnews.com: America's Best Graduate Schools 2008: Engineering School Search I joke to myself that the lower-ranking University of Hawaii would be the best safety school since it is located in paradise. BTW, my philosophy is that at least one thing in your profile should be so superb that it practically screams: "I am Mr. Wonderful. I am the reincarnation of Alan Turing." (I am exaggerating, but you get the point.) Therefore, I would consider doing something to quickly spice up your profile, such as retaking the GRE to get a higher quantitative score if you have the time to study hard for it (again). (Your GPA may be excellent, but I am not familiar with GPAs outside of the US. Also, I don't know how good you expect your LORs to be.)

I would certainly look into NCSU since they offer an M.S. in Networking:
M.S. in Computer Networking at NCSU You may also want to look into the University of Colorado at Boulder as a safety school since they have an M.S. in telecommunications: University of Colorado | MS Telecommunications To find other M.S. programs that specialize in networking, below is a Google search of college websites: site:.edu networking m.s. However, getting funding is another issue entirely. BTW, a short list of safer schools compared to CMU, MIT, etc. composed by someone wanting an M.S. with an interest in networking: Quote:

Hi Priyankam,
To my knowledge this score is pretty decent score to get into 30 to 50 rank universities as thy undergraduate, 10 and 12 % is really superb. As all of my friends got this similar scores and even less scores and they are in US now. Make sure that you get good SOPs and Recommendation letters. My wishes to you. If you are from India please dont forget to give me thy email address. My email address is sofbabu@gmail.com Regards, Praveen Babu |

Hey praveen thanks for the reply and for the encouragement.
But i dont have choice in selecting the universities because we live in Oregon and there are only two schools here. And the problem is they take students only in Fall. Its too late now and i have to wait untill next August. So im planning to try universities in other states. But i dont know much about those universities.Do you have any idea about the schools in Texas? |

Below is my small list of computer science grad programs that still offer admission for Spring 2008:
- The high-ranking University of Texas at Austin has a deadline of September 1st for the Spring term. However, getting in is very difficult. - The University of Texas at Dallas has a deadline of September 1st for non-US citizens and November 1st for US citizens and permanent U.S. residents. - Colorado State University's spring deadline is October 1st and they also offer an online degree program: CSU Computer Science Graduate Student Application Checklist - Columbia University (too expensive for me) does provide for Spring and rolling admissions: Quote:
- Ohio State University offers spring and rolling admission, though they would seem to require a higher verbal GRE and a higher GRE AWA score: Quote:

(Texas A&M had an application deadline of August 1st for the spring term, but they may be accepting applications for Summer 2008.) Other ways to find more spring programs: - Searching this forum for the keyword "spring" - Google site search of this forum: site:urch.com/forums/computer-science-admissions spring - Google Search - Google site search of .edu sites (college sites) for the keyphrase "rolling admissions": site:.edu cs rolling admissions - Google Search BTW, if you don't know already: Quote:
