Admission statistics at University of Waterloo and University of Toronto

Hi,Can anybody inform me about the admission statistics of Uof Waterloo and Toronto? How many applicants (MS and PhD) get admitted to these two schools in last year? Should a student apply to PhD program if he doesn't have a MS degree? Guyz share the information you know abt other Canadian schools specially that of UBC, Alberta, McGill. Thanks in advance.

    I would e-mail them.

As you may know, the University of Toronto is very competitive even for the MS degree, partly because they provide financial aid to all MS students:

    Relatedly, from a previous poster:
I applied to University of Waterloo and U of Toronto. UW offered me admission and financial aid, and U of T no admission.

The GradCafe doesn't give a very favorable impression, either:

However, that is the limit of my knowledge about Canadian schools, so hopefully others will post. Until then:

As far as I know , University of waterloo has the best undergraduate program in Computer Science, while university of Toronto has the best Graduate Program in Canada ( may be because they have the largest amount of Endowments among all other Canadian universities).

BTW, a friend of mine went to University of Toronto last summer to take an English course and ask the Profs about his chances in being admitted there. One of the Profs made it loud and clear : "Unless you can apply for the Top 10 schools in the states , Don't Apply to University Of Toronto" he said.
He added also : the competition is very high to the department and every year they accepts the best of the bests

    Thanks both of you.
I heard that most Canadian universities don't take PhD candidates directly (unlike US schools) who don't have a MS.
So if one intends to pursue a PhD, should he mention in the SOP for an MS admission leading to PhD, or should he apply to direct PhD (in which case the authority may direct the applicant to MS)?

i am planning to apply to these universities but the deadline for applying for ms in cs is 15th dec. I have everything ready but i don't have a toefl score which i'd get only after 15th dec [took it on 24th nov.]. what do you guys suggest, I should do? would they consider my application if the toefl score reaches after 15th dec?
