Please suggest me some names.

I want to apply for the MS in CS for Fall 08. But most of the colleges have the deadlines ending at the last of the December or so.
Can you please suggest some good universities (preferable ranked <50) which have the deadlines later than that preferably Jan last?
Thanks.

CalmLogic 's dreams are becoming reality.
If you have a stellar profile, GA Tech's deadline is February 1st, and Columbia's MS application deadline is Feburary 15th with rolling admissions after that. USC has a very late deadline of June 15th.

The thread below lists a couple lower ranking schools like UT-Arlington and Florida Institute of Technology as having later deadlines:
http://www.urch.com/forums/computer-...deadlines.html (MS Fall 2007-----Deadlines??)

BTW, I would suggest you post your profile since that may help find schools.

I already know your GRE scores from your previous post:

1440: Q790 V650

However, I would like to know if your major is/was in computer science (have you taken courses like algorithms and data structures), what your GPA is like after your second year (last 60 credits), work/research/project experience, etc.

Also, why do you have to wait to January? Is it because you need time to get letters of recommendation? I wouldn't let that stop me since it's not like most applications will be reviewed immediately after they are due. Worse come to worse and you are rejected, you would still have time to apply for UT Dallas, which has a deadline of May 1st for international students.

Thanks CalmLogic for your response. Well, I don't think my profile is stellar, but it's pretty good. I'm bit reluctant to post the whole of it in the forum but I have >80% in my undergraduate as a computer engineer from the best university of Nepal and have been working as a programmer after I finished engineering from last year.

By the way, do universities accept if I send some of my documents later or I have to send the all required documents all at once.
I am seeking latitude in my deadline because I haven't taken the toefl yet (actually I'll take it this saturday) and I need some time for SOP and recommendations.

Lastly, I am looking to apply for UNC. What are my chances of getting in?

I'll primarily target for financial assistances while I enroll for the graduation at the same time look for good universities. Do the better universities give more aids?

Thanks.

I haven't read much about UNC but I would be optimistic. I would suggest calling or e-mailing their department for admissions statistics for international MS applicants.

Of course, I would try to find time to write the SOP and include it with the initial application since that is something that only depends on you. I would contact the individual departments to see what their policy is regarding recommendation letters and TOEFL scores, but my impression is that most schools will accept an application without those things but may not review the application until those missing items are submitted. Once you receive an unofficial copy of any of your TOEFL scores, I would fax that to the school/department along with a note that your official scores will be reported to the school by ETS.

Not necessarily. Public state schools are more likely to give aid than some private schools. For example, the University of Utah is far more likely to give aid than USC. Also, at most schools, it's pretty hard to get aid awarded prior to the first semster unless one is a PhD applicant.

In my case, for example, I'm sure I would be more likely to get a TA position at UCF after being there a year compared to UF, where there would be a higher quality level of students competing for TA positions. (BTW, UF is pretty good at giving out partial tuition waivers to international students.)

BTW, another school with a later deadline is the University of Minnesota. Their deadline is February 1st:

Graduate

Another school with a later deadliner is UIC. For financial aid (TA/RA positions), their deadline is January 1 but their final deadline for international students isn't until February 15th. For the fall, TAMU's deadline has not yet passed. (Both TAMU and UIC also offer spring admission.)
