Thats right!!! St.Patrick's seniors are there in UC Santa Cruz CS PhD but IIT stud!!

Did you receive any more offers of admission.

This was my first decision.

With your profile, Vtech, TAMU and SB should be a cakewalk.

Lets see. I have applied for MS, so no aid.

But, I am curious, why did you choose NIT over JU or BE college - moving far away from home? Was it because EE wasn't your cup of tea?

Kinda.. I don't like EE. And I don't like BEC a lot.

California schools are known to be rather stingy since their non resident tuition is so high that they can easily support 2 residents or more rather than a non resident. This is a particularly horrible situation. I wonder why this policy exists in California. Their non resident tuition is the highest at around 15K per year.
God save me now!

possibly Zhang has more money than Akella.. just have a look at her financiers.

@Ancal

It's sad that I am visiting TestMagic pretty late. I joined the forum long back but I didn't visit it enough. So I didn't have the idea if I would get through PhD or not. Being a skeptic, I applied for MS mostly, which doesn't come with an aid ofcourse! Hence I applied to places which are mostly cheap.

@ Calm Hmm.. Good one! @Ancal Problem is I don't want to apply again. The whole process is a real pain in the @$$ .. Again I have to carry transcripts, again seek for recos etc etc etc .. and most of all again I have to wait for decisions. But one question that I need to ask is, if I complete the Masters from a US univ and then get admitted for PhD in another univ, how many credits relief will I get? Or is it like I have to start from the scratch again (stupid question)?Another update from my side, I have an interview from UToronto for MSc coming up tomorrow morning. I heard they fund all people who get admits. Do you know what exactly they ask in the interviews? And how many people get through Toronto and how many are interviewed? Also, if I decide to go to Canada, will I be able to do my summer internship in US and finally take up a job in US?Please tell me if you know.

I think that CalmLogic can better answer your questions with respect to Toronto - I don't know much about CS programs.

I think even after doing MS, the maximum you can get is a couple of courses may be waived in a Phd program but that is not recommended !!

Calling CalmLogic for help..

So I think it is better to do your PhD from the same univ where you do your MS.
