U.S.News America's Best Computer Science Schools 2009

US News has finally published a new ranking for the computer science schools. The ranking was computed in 2008.
Form a quick glance to the ranking here are some notes:
- CMU lost the lead
- Gatech is again among Top 10
- USC became #20
- New comers: Brandies Univ, Polytechnic Univ, UM Baltimore Country, Cuny and UT Dallas
- The ranking is published for FREE

Thanks MDK! Apparently my lucky number is 13 because both of the places I was accepted at are currently ranked 13 (UMD and UMich) and my unlucky number is 20 as three of the places I was rejected at are now tied for 20 (Brown, Penn, Duke). I don't suppose there were new specialty rankings for this year?

Yes there is another specialty ranking this year, for example Gatech was ranked #12 for AI, however it's the 7th now.

Northeastern certainly was a surprise to me. I didn't think they would rank well for any specialties, but I see now they are ranked #13 for programming languages. Another thing that I notice now is the University of Chicago ranking #14 for theory.

Of course, California as a whole really stands out, including USC at #12 for AI.
