Stony Brook all the way - very good reputation in CS and in NYC !! Plus very low tuition.

Whats the average salary ?

Hey guys.. thanks for the replies !

Just wanted to know a few more things about Suny Sb...

1) Whats the average salary of an MS CS grad at SSB ?

2) How's the internship scene at SSB ?

3) What are the living expenses at SSB ?

4) Also, i heard that real estate is costly in and around Stony Brook, so is it better to go to the hostel in the university itself or otherwise ?

5) If someone wants to later do an MBA (from another University), then does SSB has a reputation for that ?

Pls do reply..

Thanks

No one can tell for sure, but I can say it won't be less than 50k.

According to the Indian Students Association :
Quote:
Financial requirements are going to vary from individual to individual. For Graduate students, supported by the University/Departments, the requirements are much less, especially in terms of tuition fees. Please refer to the official document from the University for your tuition and other fee requirements. Living expenses can be controlled to a certain extent by the individual, as for example, rent for shared accommodation is approx. $260/m, and for single room it could be as high as $400/m. Food expenses could be anywhere from $100/m to $200/m. If you maintain a car, insurance and other expenses could be in the range of $200/m. If you live off-campus, you will need a car.

Since I am not an Indian, I would estimate it at least as 1.5 as Indians do estimate it.
