Here goes a little brief about my profile:
I wrote my GRE today and scored 1160 (680Q + 480v). My undergrad cgpa is 3.48/4 from a well-reputed program here in Pakistan. Recently I scored 99 percentile in the Graduate Assessment Test (Pak) which was taken by 23000 candidates. Moreover I've got a 3 years of both local (Pakistan) and international (Denmark) work experience as a software developer. I want to specialize in the field of Software Engineering. And NO research papers etc. Someone recommended me UT Dallas. Do I stand a chance there? I personally wanted to go to UC-Santa Cruz but I guess I'm late for this fall. Please suggest me some programs (preferably for this fall). |

I know quant does not sound that convincing but I guess its a giant leap for me, as I ruined it the first time I took it (in Nov 2007) and scored a shameful 660 (200 Q, 460 V). Its only after 6 months of practicing continuously, that I've been able to bag this score. Probably I'm Gre-phobic!
The idea of reappearing for gre now literally haunts me! ![]() Last edited by rightsideofwrong : 04-21-2008 at 01:50 PM. Reason: typo |

@w_guy: No man, you just didn't get me right. When I took it last year, I just got bogged down by a few questions in the beginning which proved fatal eventually, leading to this 200 thing. I took GAT last week which loosely follows the GRE old PBT format, but this time after practicing alot. Thats how I aced it!
![]() @mdk: Thanks for your feedback. Can you suggest a few names? ![]() |

sure man, no offense meant. just prepare for the GRE again, try to hit atleast 750 Q. then you have a wider choice of universities to select from.
Still you can try for the following from your current GRE: 1) IIT 2) Univ of Texas: Arlington |

I would add George Washington to the list:
Quote:
2) NMSU Departmental Requirements for Graduate Admissions BTW, most of the Canadian Universities don't require GRE. |
