Can You Please Evaluate these Issue and Arguments for me from Powerprep?

Issue-

A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college.

Response

 

Though the same national curriculum for students until college can create equivalent students and avoid the chances for any college to discriminate between any student based on his pre college education , we must keep into mind that not every student have the same interest and needs in their life .

 

Different students have different interest and they can perform very well in the field of their interests .But if we force them to learn a subject out of their interest , the result may not be the same ie they might loose their interests and might even drop out before their education is complete.

 

We must also keep into the mind the fact that we need to have a workforce of such teachers also who can provide such education to the students. Every teacher has his on specialization in some field and he can teach better if the subject is from his field.Keeping the same curriculum for students will also require the change of subjects for teachers and can deteriorate the quality of education.

 

Not all the students want to go for college.Every person has different needs and they wants to pursue the course according to their needs.hey might like to have some kind of vocational training according to their requirement so that they can start doing some job and start earning.common curriculum does not seems to provide this to the students.Students might not have enough money or resources to get admission into the college and they might like to start earning as soon as possible .

So our education system should be such that they can be prepared according to their need.

 

A country can have different languages in different regions ,so for the common curriculum to be available for all pre college students require that the subjects be available in their respective languages which is not an easy task.Different regions have different types of workforce requirements .A student might not want to move from his locality in order to get some job due to various factors including family responsibility etc.In such case the goal of the education should be such that they can join such a workforce which can fulfill such requirement.

 

Thus in a nutshell it can be said that though the same national curriculum seems to create an equal education system for all the pre college students but it is ignoring many important factors on which the life and career of any student depends.Same national curriculum does not seems to prepare the students to build his future according to his needs and requirements and can prepare a large section of unemployed students in the society.

Argument-

 

The following is a memorandum from the business manager of a television station.

 

"Over the past year , our late night news program has devoted increased time to national news and less time to weather and local news.During this time period , most of the complaints received from viewers were concerned with our station's coverage of weather and local news.In addition local business that used to advertise during our late-night news program have just cancelled their advertising contract with us.Therefore , in order to attract more viewers to the program and to avoid losing any further advertising revenues, we should restore the time devoted to weather and local news to its former level."

 

Response-

 

Covering the national news in the late -night program might help in the coverage of more of national news but it is not clear from the memorandum that how can it effect the duration of coverage of weather forecast and local news.

Late night section seems to have a completely different time slot than the weather forecast and local news timings.

 

It might reduce the complaints of the viewers to some extent but does not seems to resolve all the complaints as majority of the viewers prefers to go to sleep during the timings when the national news is covered.How is this late night coverage going to satisfy this section of the viewers .

 

Moreover it is not clear why the local business canceled their advertising contract with the news channel.Advertisement can still be broadcasted whether the news is national or local .It is also not clear that in the past year the ,only the local news was covered in the late night news program.The cancellation of the contract can be due to the reason that the news channel might have only few or limited viewers at that time.It can be a good reason for the local business to cancel their advertising contracts.Moreover if the weather and local news timings are restored to its former level ,it is not clear how the channel is going to get back its advertising contracts.

 

If the viewers are less interested in weather forecast and local news it is not clear that how the news channel can get business advertisement contract during those hours when the number of viewers are very less.If there were so many complaints with the former level of news broadcast then it is not clear that how the news channel can attract more number of viewers by restoring the weather and local news to its former level.

 

The restoration of the weather and local news to its former level will only be leading to the lesser timings for National news coverage and increase in the complaints from the viewers again.It does not seems to have any effect on the local business advertisement contract.

 

In all it can be said that the given memorandum does not seems to justify the reason
