In UK common usage includes:
Admit
1. Connected with permission to enter (we cannot admit you without a ticket).
2. Own up to some sort of misdeed (the accused admitted that he had taken the money).
Concede
To give way/admit defeat (your argument is stronger than mine so I must concede).
Acknowledge
1. To act in a way that shows you have …
a … seen someone you know (he acknowledged me in the street)
b … heard or seen something etc (the soloist acknowledged the applause).
2. As recognize 2.
Recognize
1. To identify someone/something you know (he recognized the politician when he saw him in the street)
2. To indicate that you have heard/understood a point made by someone (I recognize the strength of your argument, but…)
There are other variations as dictionary definitions will probably show.
Post back if you have a specific question about usage.

While all these words have similar meaning. There may sometimes depending on usage be some differnces.
Admit and concede often mean that you are doing it without really liking it.
Ex) I had to concede that he did contribute a bit to our sucess.
The CEO conceded that her poor planning was partly responsible for the loss.
I have to admit that her argument does have its points.
whereas, recognize or acknowledge tend to be on the positive side.
Ex) We would like to acknowledge his contribution.
He was recognized for his contribution as a coach.
If you don't fail now and again, it's a sign you're playing it safe.
