I had been having trouble in registering for the toefl ibt, so my mom told me to try with one of her credit cards and also with the store that she works in credit card. So the problem is that when I was filling out the billing information, I got distracted and I wrote the name that appears on the credict card of the office my mom works in and when I was writing the number of the credit card I wrote my momīs!!. The surprising fact is that the payment was processed, and I am now registered for the test!!!!

I was wondering, Is there going to be any problem?

Last Thursday (i.e., week ago) I sent a fax for a re-score request. ETS does not yet withdraw money form my account.

During that week I sent the fax them several times (to make sure that they receive it) and even contacted their helpdesk by email. here is their answer:
"Please note that your rescore request has not been processed to date. All rescore requests are processed approximately three weeks after receipt at ETS and do not appear on your file until processing has been completed.
Please allow sufficient processing and mailing time from the date you sent your request and contact us again.
Because ETS receives thousands of requests on a daily basis, it is not possible to locate a specific request prior to processing. "

Already week passed and the money is not withdrawn yet. What you suggest me to do? Pls share your experience

topic: What events make a person an adult?

When we are children, we claim that when one turns eighteen, one becomes an adult. However, when we reach that age, the word audult seems incredibly far for us. Therefore I conted that this event that occurs to all of us at one point in our lives, does not difine us as adults.

First of all, there are many more important events in life that could title us as adults. For instance, I recall when my cousin graduated from high school at the age of sixteen. It was still two years before she could officialy be considered a grown up. She had a profund desire to go to college. Sadly, her financial circumstances did not permitted her to do so. Instead, she was forced to work to help her parents with the household expenses, and the opportunity to attain a college degree, faded away. She was denied the chance to develop her intelectual skills but she assumed it with the maturity and responsability the circumstances requeried.

In addition to the previous point, not all "adults" behave as they are supposed to. I knew a lady that was thirty years old, and one day I asked her what were her dreams back in high school. My astonishment was great, when she told me she did not really have a defined dream. She said what she only cared for in high school was to fit in. Therefore, she spent immitating her friends and now that she was thirty, she did not know what do to with her life.

In conclusion, the event which happens to everybody at one point in their lives, does not make them adults. We have more vital moments in our lives that makes ud adults. Question; Both parents should have an equal responsibility in child rearing.

I totally agree with the following statement. In my opinion, having both of the parents share their responsibilites is a major advantage for the kids, because there is a great chance that the children will be well educated and feel protected from the outside world. When parents tend to understand each other in a better way and when there occurs less misunderstanding between the partners, the kids will know better to distinguish the right from wrong. Afterall, how the parents behave with each other in front of their kids, their sons and daughters are able to pick up the leftovers of their parent's behaviour and develop it from there. The innocence and the vulnerability of the kids at a very young age, it puts them into a disadvantage as they can be influenced and effected very easily either in a wrong or a right way that it will become part of their character when they reach adulthood. As an example, I have made many mistakes during my childhood and in my teenager years. I have many regrets and I have wished that I could have learned faster. I sacraficed my childhood for my future. It was important and heartbreaking when I made the final decision to take over my life. When parents are aware of their role and have gone through their experiences with lots of courage and fight, then they are ready to provide to their kids.

I am going to take the real test on 22.11 and I am very nervous now.
I want to get the scores R:28,L:25,S:20,W:28.
But I have encountered tons of difficulties. e.g.
1/ When I did the model test from Cambridge for Reading, I just got 19-20. So, how can I improve to conquer the 28 points? What is your strategy? Can you share me?
2/ When I did the listening model test of Barron's, I juz got 19-20 as well. However, I want the scores of 25. I have only 10 days remained. Can you help me solve this problems?
I have difficulties in Reading and Listening of TOEFL ibt as mentioned.
Pls help me and give me some motivation to go the finish line.

I live in Greece and I am of Italian heritage. I am highly confused and worried with what's happened to me with the TOEFL test and I really need some advice.
The main problem is my last name, it is Italian even though it is written with a wrong spelling in my Greek ID. When I registered for the iBt test I mistakenly gave the correct spelling of my name, not the one that matches my Greek ID.
I realized my fault a week before the examination date and called the test center for advice. They assured me that any misspellings can be easily fixed during the examination date. Indeed the name was fixed on my profile, however, the actual name printed on the test results was the original one. I called ETS service via phone and they told me that the actual test's name can never be changed and that I had to edit the spelling at least 10 days before I took the test in order be applied at the test's results. After a lot of searching I found out that my name can be corrected on my ID by requesting a new Italian passport but because my insecurity levels have reached a peak I don't know whether this is enough to resolve my problem, so I got the following questions:

1) What additional profile data does ETS send along with a test report?
(eg. profile name,updated authentication ID's/passports on profile etc)


2) I've also put my father's name as middle name, even though there is no
such a thing as middle name in Greek passports.Is there a problem with that too?

3) How does institutions authenticate test results sent via ETS exactly?
