Hi all,

i'm currently applying for a F1 visa in USA, i'm a french student in IT engineering in the 4th year in an IT school. We have a partnership with some university in USA during our 4th year for studying there 9 months and then we must come back to france for finish our studies (5 years program) and get the diploma.

But i'm an anxious person and i'm really afraid with the interview, that's why i got some questions:

1 - My main "problem" is that i have some family in USA. My mother (who is also my sponsor) is actually working as an expatriate in east coast of the USA in a project for a big company since 4 years (she haves a L1 visa), my little sister who is 12 years old is studying in a private french school there and my step dad is with them.
Furthermore, i went to USA plenty of time since my mother moved to USA because we have 2 free fly tickets per childrens per year for visiting. So the last 4 years, i went for each christmas (2 weeks) and each summer holydays (5 weeks) in USA for visiting.

So i'm really afraid that they will think i come here for rejoin them.

Like i said, i'm a 4th year student and i would like to study in a university in the west coast (opposite coast from my mother) in partnership with my french school, i have a paper from my school that certify that i must come back in the end of the 9 months for finish my studies in france, and of course i have some family in france too. My father is engineer in France, and i plan to work in a company in france in partnership with my french school once i get my diploma.

Do you think that it will be ok for that point ?

2 - Less important but in some paper, like in the DS-157, they ask us to enumerate each country that we visited the last 10 years, i remember all the country but the problem is that i can't remember exactly when i went in those country, so maybe i am doing a mistake in certain years.

Is it a big matter ? (for example, i went to spain but i can't remember if i went 7 years ago or 8 years ago)

Anyway thank you for your answers and for this forum
I'm really sorry for my english, but it's the main reason of why i would like to study in USA

i will let you know how it went

Hi!

I am from Europe and currently studying in the US. My F1 visa will expire in June 2010. I am going back home for the holidays and would like to use my winter break to renew the visa. Having said all this, I know it is not easy to obtain/renew a student visa. I am a music major, just transferred, with a GPA of 3.75. I have an almost full ride. I don't know how hard it is for Europeans to renew their visa. Could the full ride be a problem? I also have no idea how to prove my intent to return home. When I applied the first time they didn't even ask for it. Now that I need to renew I am a little more concerned. The thing is that I do want to return home...miss my family :(...but I do want to finish education here. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thank you!
