The preferred word is Native American and not Indian and I will tell you why. Most tribal folks don't care for Christopher Columbus. If you refer to us as Indian, you are actually honoring Columbus who believed he had landed in India. Think about it, if Columbus had believed he had landed in China, would you call us Chinese?

I've gotten this message several times in the last couple of months. At first I thought it was a strange, random email (you should see some of the email I get!), but I kept getting it.

It's strange because the accounts actually do appear to be spam accounts. Furthermore, the text that it quotes from the email actually matches the email that our forum sends out (it's not the default message; I have customized the message).

My best guess is that some person somewhere has created some software that registers accounts. The registrant has been able to get past the CAPTCHA image, and has received the email (as is evidenced by the customized message).

Furthermore, a close look at the email shows that it is an auto-responder that is sending the email. (Since the actual text of the email is not included.)
