Lightbulb Feature request: New Posts, as per user's last visit & interest

Erin and Moderators,

We have a wonderful feature 'New Posts' on this forum. I guess, by clicking this, we can see all posts created/replied during the last 6 hours.

1) Why can't we have this feature as per user's last visit? For example, if
someone visits after 9 days, he/she will have a chance to see all the posts
created/ replied during the last 9 days.

2) As all of us are not interested in all the forums, what about reducing the
number of posts in accordance with user's interest in the forums? For
example, someone interested only in GMAT verbal, TOEFL Grammar,
Lounge, Admissions can reduce his search by seeing only the new posts as
per his/her interest.

IMO, adding the above features is not a big deal.
Comments and suggestions on this post are most welcome.

Before I answer your questions, I should note that the forum software will be upgraded fairly soon, and the "new post" features are improved. I don't know the ins and outs, but there are some nice additions in the new software.

You will notice that the forum returns no more than 100 search results; the number is limited to 100 to reduce server load. This forum sees upward of 1000 posts per day, so seeing all posts after such a long period would probably return an unwieldly number of posts.

I see what you mean. Something like "My Subscribed Forums," right? I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks for your feedback. I honestly appreciate it.
