Authenticate posted personal data of candidates?

ERIN, I SUGGEST THAT WE HAVE MECHANISM TO MARK AND AUTHENTICATE
[atleast reasonably] the information that is availble at TM, that way we can
serve others in a better fashion.I invite comments on opinion.

I think he wants to have some system in place to verify the authenticity of different admits that are being reported from all around the world. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Well Yeah.. we should make sure that the ADMITS/REJECTS are in fact real
and worthy of analysis, so that we don't mislead people..

I feel we can contact the members of the students association, hope it is
a TMian,maybe he can validate the said admits, by say putting up a personal
page dedicated to TMians...

For all that TM has done to us, putting up a site for TM's sake, after heading
to a place where evry prospective TMian would dream of, might just be one of the ways to THANK TM..

Umm. That will be a bit difficult, don't you think? Considering, many people do prefer being rather anonymous here. There are also some other issues, for eg. this one. (Should I lie on this question ??)

I understand ,and u are right for many reasons but I know of univ.. that
displays the names of their students..Clemson for example..


unfortunately I am not going to be one of them:o


I also believe that thereis no reason to lie..but some valuale info..regarding
the univ. that accepted, but where the student chose to go a diff. place,
that is possible if we are true to TM...

maybe.. we won't need complexes databases of authenticated entries..

any suggestions..

You mean Clemson displays the entire list of accepted students on their website?

well I had a list of electrical engg students at clemson, my friend got through one of his seniors at CLEMSON..

I'd have to say that doing this would not be feasible; not here on this site or on any other website. First, it would be impossible to verify that kind of information (for privacy reasons, schools rightly do not release that kind of information); second, even it it were possible, doing this would reveal too much private information.

I think our "honor" system works pretty well; we can improve on it by maintaining a high sense of integrity all around.
