How to change "SCREEN NAME"?

Thanks a lot guys.Now i will complete the 100 posts and change the ID to a suitable one.

I was occupied because of my End sem exams and hence could not login on the community.I apologise to all those members who found me worth sending the private message expecting a quick reply but i could not reply them timely.

I had the same conception about the changing ones name as wasley @ post#2 until today when I found the fellow whose name's been changed.
Yes. I thought that username is kept as a record in the forum database so can't be changed.
But today when I checked my introduction thread
I saw this member has his username got changed.

it was "rainforest" earlier now it is "collienshia"

Yes, the usernames are stored in the database, and cannot be changed by the users. I can go in and change them manually, but it's a bit time-consuming.

I've changed only a handful of usernames in the past, and usually, for the same reasons--using an email address as a username (which sometimes results in unwanted emails from others) and using a name that identifies the member (for example, using your real name).

You're on a roll today--you're right about several things. First, you know I can't discuss private matters about members, right? I take these things seriously, you know?

Second, yes, auto-merge is off. I may not re-activate it. I'll just have to live with all the repeat posts.
