How to change "SCREEN NAME"?

Hi,
I have observed that because of my scrrenname[viz NJIT] my fellow TMians are getting misunderstood that I am a gradute studnet at the mentioned university or I am in USA pursuing my graduate studies.I could make this out with kind of PMs i recieved and replies that I got in few threads where in i posted my reply.

I wanted to ask whether we have any provision to change the screenname/username on TM.I tried using options/settings but could not do it.

I request authorities here to assist me further.
Thanking you.

NJIT,

I think the authorities (aka Erin) will tell you that such a change is not possible without starting afresh. As I understand it your screen/username is effectively your account name so can't be changed.

You might be able to use the other options to help clarify the situation.

Removing the NJIT logo might help reduce confusion.

I thought of making this thread as "My Doubts" thread[].Kindly solve my doubts.

1)What does the "Strawberry" and "GREEN RECTANGLE" below my user name suggest?

2)What does that status "Eager" mean?

Thank you.

NJIT,

Well the strawberry and green rectangle could suggest all sorts of different things to different people and there are some very strange people around these days.

If, however, you want to know what they mean there are some answers. As far as I know the strawberry and other symbols (like my fish) change according to the number of posts you make. Now as to why a strawberry or a fish or whatever I have no idea whatsoever, I imagine it's just part of the naffery that is bundled with the forum software. So if you don't like strawberries, fish or whatever - tough.

The rectangle(s) indicate the level of reputation you have achieved. People can add to/subtract from your reputation by clicking on the thumbs on your posts. They can leave a message saying why they have done this which you can see if you click on 'My Test Magic'. This assumes you have enabled reputation in options in your control panel.

'Eager' and other strange messages also seems to depend on the number of posts you have made. As to what they mean - who knows? You can change it to something more meaningful (as I have done) via the Edit Profile > Customer User Title option in the control panel.

NJIT,

Perhaps it is only available after you have made a certain number of posts. You will have to wait until you graduate from strawberrydom to find out unless Erin or someone comes along with a definitive answer before then.

I recall that you can change your user title when you hit 100 posts, but my memory may not be accurte.

Of course it is accurate. I could join the Dumbledore's army only after 100 posts.
