Mr.Aditya, Whether 2 months is sufficient or not depends on your present level of preparedness for the GRE. Since you have good vocab, It should be sufficient. (It's the hardest part for most Indians) Almost anyone will do well on quant. No need to worry much about that. You should assess your level of analytical ability by doing some model tests. If your performance is above average, two months is more than enough to prepare for GRE. (provided you can study with full concentration from now onwards.) Hmm.... that's only what I feel. The most common question I hear from people is "How long will it take me to get XXX on the XXX/X/X?" And I always give the same answer: "It depends on your starting score, your goal score, how much time you study, and your natural "test-taking aptitude."" So, the first thing you need to do is take some practice tests. That's truly the only thing that could tell us your starting point. Generally speaking, people from Asia find the math the least challenging part of the test. In fact, a good number of my students have gotten 800's on the math and the analytical sections. These people were generally educated in the Asian math style (more emphasis on knowledge/formulas; less emphasis on "tricks") and were engineers or computer programmers. According to what you've told us, I'd say you're in good shape--you say your vocab is good, and your math should be okay, too, but, as a teacher, I would say that before you do anything else, you need to take a full-length, official practice test (free d/l at www.gre.org) and post back here with your score. Only then can we know for sure. Hope that helps, and welcome! Erin TestMagic help you before your test? Please remember to post after your test. Please? Please? |

Hi aditya
You are very lucky to find this site before GRE. When I wanted to apply for GRE My brother gave me some advises. All he advised is that I should do all simple problems from the text books of 7th, 8th ,9th and 10th class maths text books. Nothing else!! NO coaching,no preparation except that!! I think you had passed in your high scholl maths exams. If you didn't may be I can't help you ![]() If you could complete those mathes in your childhood, i am sure you can do it now.The time given is more than enough.I had 20 minutes when I reached last 8th question of my GRE.It was tough for me to spend the time.So I don't think it is tough. My sister who fears much about mathes is very clever at mathes sometimes answers smples questions faster than us, but she fears!! It depends on your attitude. Best of luck madhavi |
