Infraction
Erin
I received a message from knok saying about an infraction for not putting a period at the end of the sentence......I did'nt realize the forum is getting so strict that one has to receive an infraction.....I thought this is a pretty laid back kind of forum where one can let his/her hair down, kick off one's shoes (in a manner of speaking) after a hectic schedule of work and studies when posting |

Actually, I am sorry for the confusion. I should have mentioned clearly that your post did not start with a capital letter or indent where needed. If a member forgot to put period only a few times, I will not worry about that but if there is not period at all in every post, I have to notify the members so that they will not forget in the future. Remember that other members read a lot of messages. I put period in every post of yours since I think it was a small issue but you continued to forget so I had to remind you. I hope that you understand my point.

Why did you get an infraction? An infraction has been given because of the use of 'Textese'. This is the name given in the forums to incorrect English where capital letters are not used where needed, abbreviations used excessively, punctuation is omitted and so on. Please read this Announcement by Erin. Please try to use correct English in your future posts. Knok

The reason for these multiple post is that when I click on submit post , the post I made did not appear on the screen so I click it again and nothing so I tried to click again..... and if you are so strict with indent, period etc.etc.etc. so you mean to say you're giving Erin and the rest of the members including yourself an infraction too..... ?????

Hi, wisenhelp. Sorry that you're frustrated. This is a new thing that we're trying at the forums, since in the last year or so we've been having a lot of trouble with posts that are hard to read.
Sometimes it's really a lot of things together that make a post hard to read, so it's hard to say for sure what one or two things are always frowned upon. Here's an example of what I'm trying to reduce in the forums: Quote:

Hi Erin. The example you gave is understandable to be given an infraction, reminder or a warning because I myself is really having a hard time reading it, but the way knok is handling it in the FPGEE Forum is way too much. I'm also reading some post in the MBA, Med school, some test magic staff
etc.etc.etc., are also posting in small letters, no indent, no punctuation, not using capital letters in the title, but I dont see anybody editing their post , now I do not know if they are also given an infraction or not....my point is as long as one is not posting textese just like your example, not violating copyright, spamming, using vulgar words, let your moderator leave them alone....Quote:
