Hi Erin,
I can upload now. I checked your sticky and realised that you have set the limit even for uploading. But I don't understand how that will help. Suppose someone has not posted a 100 times but has notes or other study material to share, the members of the forum are at a loss. |

Lorelai, I understand your confusion. The reason I've also restricted uploads is that, quite honestly, I don't want our forums to be a file repository. Nor did I ever intend that this happen. The uploading features are really a convenience or secondary feature, not the primary draw.
I realize that people may sometimes need to upload a graphic or something, and unfortunately the forum doesn't differentiate between graphics and files. If you need to show an image, I would suggest a site like photobucket.com (a very nice, free site) or flickr.com or something. |

Erin,
I get your point now. I was hasty and overlooked the fact that there are other sites on which an image or a file could be uploaded and the link provided in this forum. In this way, neither does the forum become a repository of files nor are the members at a loss. |

Hi Erin,
I am really sorry to contact you like this but I was unable to do it in another way. Actually, I am unable to download anything from the site. Since you are the administrator, I guess you can help me with that. Please contact me at rupali41@yahoo.co.in Thanks! |

rupali41, I'm not Erin and I am not a moderator, but you can find the explanation for why you can't upload or download in this thread (Can't post? Can't send a PM? Can't reply? Can't subscribe? Can't download?).
You won't be able to upload or download until you have met certain conditions, which Erin explains in this post (Unable to download attachments from a Thread). The bottom line is that you have to have a minimum number of posts, reputation points, and days of membership before you can upload or download. |
