Erin, Would like to bring in your notice a bug on Test Magic
Hi Erin,
I would like to bring in your notice a strange bug on TM. Whenever I do Advanced search say for example "Number Properties" In "Gmat Problem Solving" most of the times the website returns error as shown in attachment. Trying different permutation and combinations (like "Properties" or "Number Theory") works sometimes Real problem comes whenever I am inside displayed sorted resuts thread, and navigates to different thread,as posted by users, for same problem, the other new window opens, but if i press back button on original (previous) window, the page doesn't shows the sorted results. Infact it shows something like "sorry no results found, try again"![]() Erin, do you already know about this bug. Will you be having time to fix this up. Thanks. Sorry about that.

As a workaround, you might want to use the scrollwheel click method--click on a link with your scrollwheel, and the link will open in another tab. This works a lot faster in Firefox than it does in IE. Quote:

Hi Erin,
Thanks for your response. But I frequently face above mentioned problem. I was living with it for past few months. Basically the probability of error is less when the search string is unique in some sense, like if i search for "product of two negative integers" with option "search in titles" the chances of getting "zero sized reply" is very less, as i think due to uniqueness of string, the search engine searches fast in comparison to when I give quite common string like "number properties". May be you are sitting near to TM server that's why you may not be getting this error ![]() |

If you could tell me how to reproduce this error, I'll try.
At any rate, I did a little research on this error, and it seems that it requires some troubleshooting. I'm planning to move this forum to a better server, so I'll try to keep this error in mind when I do that. I hope it solves the problem. |

Hi Erin,
For reproducing the error you can try following. Go to Advanced search >> Keywords "number" and "search entire posts" >> Search in forum "Gmat Problem Solving". I tried to search for same string in another online discussion forum betthegmat dot com (which is think is built on same technolgical platform as TM is), just to make sure that there is no problme with my PC, and the search works absolutely fine there. So it seems there is some problem with TM's search engine ![]() Quote "I'm planning to move this forum to a better server, so I'll try to keep this error in mind when I do that. Just curious about one thing, do you earn any revenue from this website or its just pure social service ![]() P.S. Do let me know about the grammar mistake, because I am not a native speaker of english ![]() Cheers !! Last edited by Gmater-1 : 11-26-2007 at 06:04 AM. Reason: Corrected some spelling mistakes |

Erin, this is pretty nasty of TM seach engine. Sorry to be bit harsh, coz I am not paying for the service just a free user.
Well I am presently preparing for Percent based problems for GMAT and for which i often need to search for string "Percent" this time, but the problem still remains the same, It shows me the same "zero sized reply" reply in 9 out of 10 cases. Now this time i tried some weird word "muck" and the search engine instantaneously and very plesently showed me the "Reading Comprehension" thread where this single word appeared. Then I again tried "Percent" and it bluntly showed me same error message "zero sized reply". |

Erin, this bug still exists on TM.
This happens with searched threads only. Whenever I click on any hyperlink provided inside any thread, which i searched for, no doubt the new webpage opens up, but when I press back button on the thread to return back to list of searched threads, I mostly get this message "sorry no matches found, please try again" |
