No problems with FinAid?

This (sub)forum is not very active. It seems that people don't have any problems with their finances. So, is it really so? Can a prospective student for phd at top 20 schools really be confident about getting everything, even though he/she is without any own source of money? What have you heard from the horse's mouth?

ProcessControl is on the way!
I think there are two reasons:

1) It's hard to answer very general questions. Specific questions are more likely to get answers (though not always).

2) Financial aid is really one of those impenetrable black boxes. Much less is known about financial aid than about admission policies.
