Sponsors cause Visa problems?

Hi,
I read in this article in the newspaper on Visa interviews that if you have an American resident sponsoring you, it'll lead to more questions and problems at the Visa interview? Apparently, they think you might want to stick on in the US after your graduate program.. How true is this? Can someone verify this?
Thanks
Archana

Yes what you say is true. the VISA officer generaly wants to ensure that you wont stick in US. In case u have a sponsor from US, it is more likely that you may try and settle in US. So he may scrutinize you a bit more.

IMHO if you are working in India currently then you should get a certificate form employr that you would be back in the given company after MS program
