    Hotel at New York site

    Hi,

I have booked a hostel at Chelsea Star Hotel. The address is:

300 West 30th Street, New York City.

Only 4 blocks from the exam site. The rate is $35/night/person.

I have searched around, this one is by far the closest and the least expensive. Most of the reviews and comments are in favor of this hostel.

I do not want this sound like ads. The reason I post this information is, I personally hope that a group of us can stay together the night before the exam. Why? Because I have some concerns over the safty. I am so not used to live in mixed dorm (8 males and females in one room). If many of us are in this hostel, I would feel much more comfortable, and we can walk together to the exam on Dec 6th. (I easily get lost if no one guides me)

If you book this hostel, please reply this post so that I can see how many of us will be there. BTW, when you book online, do not forget to click "Sign up for No Booking Fees!", just give them your email and save $2

If you land New York City at LGA airport, you can take public transit to the hostel. This is a google map of transfer route, click HERE. The total travel time is about 1.5 hours including 0.3 mile walking.

Click HERE for a walking route from the hostel to the exam site. The total walking distance is about 0.9 mile.

    Hi,

I stayed there in August for a couple of nights. The area is safe (one block from Penn Station) and the hostel is rather clean and not too noisy. My roommates were friendly and quite. So, even if you don't find other test-takers, you are probably going to be fine.

    Good luck!

Hi, there is a link in the text of my first post in this thread, "Chelsea Star Hotel"click that link you will find the website where I searched the hostels in New York. You can take public transport to this hostel from the LGA airport, get off at Penn Station (a major subway station in New York), the hostel is minutes walk from Penn Station.

    Hello

I am in Corpus Christi, Texas right now and planning to be there on Dec 05 evening. Thanks for your information. I don't know how you got the address for the exam center but I was looking for this from more than a month.

Anyway I will meet you there and let me try for reserving the hotel first if I am lucky...

    Thanks
