oh, wow! we get different answers then... have u tried talking to one of the FPGEE committee? coz honestly i called a few times and verified and they were saying the gap does matter still u r holding 2 different papers: one is a BS (4yrs) and d other is a POst BS. and they wont accept that...

i even let my husband ( he is a clinical pharmacist) call. and they said the same thing and for assurance just do a PharmD here in the US. either u get accepted to the international pharmD pograms or u start all over again...

otherwise just wait till the board change their minds again and let us sit for the FPGEE...

but u know what is all of us has different situations.... i only have a 4yr BSpharm degree no +1 or pre-U pharm course... but if i go back and do PharmD which they just offered in my country... the gap between my BS and postBS will be 6yrs... mayb if the gap isnt to far mayb u guys will get accepted... just try...

    Hi Pharm'03,

Will you get a single degree finally or two of them? Converting your degree to a single Pharm.D. degree is important ( they wont accept two). But as you said, they say different things to different people. Lets hope for the best.

    annelvis,

i talked to ur dean at CEU and yes u guys have a PharmD. can u tell me if somebody already applied to FPGEE after they r done with their pharmD? i was gonna go back and pursue pharmD in PI but i talked to FPGEE and they said that they will not recognize it...

and hey... if u r in PI... is there anyway u can get me the number of the board of pharmacy in the PI... thanks!

also i asked one of the representative fr FPGEE trying to see if i can go back to the country where i got my degree and do the PharmD (+2yrs). they said it should be a straight 5yr program.... i was just wondering maybe i was talking to the wrong person. if any of u can direct me to the right person it wud really mean a lot...

    hi foreign pharmacist!

after u r done with ur BS, that is ur first degree and after that u do further studies let say PharmD or MS or PhD... that is considered ur 2nd degree.... and u r going to b called BS,PharmD, MS pharmacist. its kinda like nursing... so many degrees... i dont know...

here in the US they take 2yrs of prepharmacy coursework then 4yrs of pharmacy program that makes them PharmD. thats y they r not accepting BS anymore fr other country due to this program... + the program consists of electives that wasn't in the BS b4...

well, will see... hope they will just change the law again and just let everybody take the exam...

Hi pharm'03! Yes CEU offers PharmD but enrolling with the said degree will not enable those who graduated from 2003 onwards to take the fpgee. PharmD is considered to be a post grad degree. But I know a school here in the Philippines which offers the additional 1 year needed to complete the 5 years requirement. This school has been offering this for about 7 school years i thing to pharmacy students like us who are not eligible to take the fpgee. You can pm me for more details. Hope this helps!
