Oct 09 fpgee exam experience -Its not that bad
Hi,
I dare to say that ! Here is my experience: Confidence level ? I had very good night sleep . I closed my books day before evening 4 pm. Watched cartooon movies. What book/material? Lippincot,CPR , Dutta Book , Remington, and internet PreFPGEE? Yes. You better take it at least 3 weeks before exam. What kind of questions were in exam? - 3 Caluclation Questions - 4 statistics questions - Lots of questions on drug interactions , side effects, drug/drug interactions, drug of choice for disease -Questions from micribiology, pharmacology, immunology, pathophysiology, anatomy, and pharmaceutics - Ethics in Pharmacy Practice -US Health Care System -Good number of questions on Hypertension. My suggestion: I graduated 15 years back. I started with Lippincot and moved to CPR. Lippincot helped me to cover my basics in detail. Then I started reading CPR. There are so much stuffs to cover and at this point Dutta Fpgee questions book helped me. If you are graduated recently then you can directly start from Dutta Fpgee Book. Dutta book questions are corelated to each chpater in CPR. Pay attention to explanation for questions . I used Remington for Management . But most of the management questions you can answer with fair logic. I have never seen other material/book so I can not comment on any other book or material. Bottom line : No matter how many books you studied . You need to challenge every day your brain about understanding of the subject studied. So, doing practice questions is equally or more important than studying subjects. Hope this helps to somebody! Good Luck to all of you! Thanks to temp who inspired me to post my experience in this format . Please ask me any questions. I would try to answer |

Hi Garcia4u:
I also have graduated for a long time like you. How long have you spent studying for the exam? what are your suggestions about Dutta book? I have heard that this book has many mistakes. Is it true? Homeland |

I stuidied for 6 months . Dutta book has typos than mistakes . May be 1 to 2 % mistakes . But you need to wiegh advantages vs disadvantages. I did find couple in CPR. But our goal should not be finding mistakes in books . Perhaps understanding the concept correctly and traing our brains to practice questions, so that we can answer any type of question during exam wiyhout stress.

The other guy did not say that the exam was easy, relatively he is inferring that it was not that bad compared to the blast of forlon reaction from other exam takers and i believe that he will be vindicated when the result comes out. If some body is telling me that he/she studied from CPR,MANAN,MORRIS CODYand REMINGTON, you know what that means?, and yet comes out crying to high heavens, who do you blame, the examiner, the books or the candidate. I agree that there were some weird questions that were not covered by the usual books we use to prepare for the FPGEE, thats ok but what about the blue print e.g. there was no radioactive pharmacy in the blue print but some books included that area. Besides, not all questions count as some are mock like, lets put up positive attitude about this exam to encourage our selves and future candidates by doing positive and investigative studies since the present day questions are becoming more like an intelligent quotient assesement, where you have to think fisrt, lets share up, i believe a lot will pass this exam
