Chapters of CPR to study
Hi everybody, i've got the blueprint, I've got CPR. But i am still not clear about which chapters to skip in CPR. sometimes i come across things that are not exclusively mentioned in the blueprint but which nevertheless i feel i should study. Can someone tell me which chapters to skip in CPR? I don't want to waste my time studying stuff that is not required.
Thanks. |

I took the exam in December, 2008, and I passed. I did not have much time to study. I got a lot of books but ended up using mainly CPR, and Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews: Pharmacology. I started studying with Lippincotts, because I did not like CPR at first. Then I started to use both books to study, because when reading this forum I found out that a lot of people that used CPR passed the exam, so I thought, why not give it a shot? And I liked it. When using CPR I did focus more in some chapters than others, but I read the whole book. I did review twice, sometimes three times, chapters that I considered too easy, for example, chapters 1, 2, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 27, etc, because I knew I would not have much time during the exam to answer all the questions so, if I studied well questions that I considered easier, I would respond them faster and could save time for questions that were more complicated for me. It was good for me that I did that! It saved me time, and could answer almost all the questions of the exam. I used the internet a lot too. For example, if I saw in CPR that the table X for hypertension reflected the recommendations of JNC-7, I would google it, download the guidelines for hypertension and read it. It was easier for me to study that way. When I was tired and did not want to read books, I read the website PharmacyTimes, specially the continuing education and case studies sections. I kept on reading this forum during the time I was studying, because the members always come up with really good ideas to study, and some of them helped me a lot. Also, a lot of people take their times to write very supportive messages in this forum. By the way, thank you all for your ideas and support! ![]() I hope this helps! May God bless you all. |
