states which dont require SSN

Hello guys,

Does anybody knows abt the internships licence in the states where we dont require SSN.I am presently in netherlands looking for internships(waiting for fpgec certificate).I contacted cvs and they said they r not sponsoring h1b visas at the moment.Regarding walgreens they need fpgec certificate to sponsor h1b.If anybody knows abt the internships in other pharmacies either in florida or other states please let me know. Your help is appreciated.

We are in the same boat, I'm in Argentina now and it seems that nobody is sponsoring for 2006 calendar year yet. I contact Rite Aid and Eckerds and the first one offer positions in states where certificate is required and the second is not sponsoring yet. Walgreens ask for certificate so I think we are stuck here until we have certificate on hand.

thanx for your reply..your are right,,nobody is sponsoring h1b's for fy-2006 at the moment.May be they will start sponsoring after some time,i guess.If they dont sponsor untill Fpgec certificate then we will be in trouble as the NABP takeing 3-4 months to issute the certificate.I talked with the CVS people again and they said they are not sponsoring h1b at the moment...as they dont have enough positions in the company.Regarding the walgreens,,i think its easy to get once u get the certificate(i talked with walgreens again). I dont know what to do..i think we just have to wait for some time.If any pharmacy sponsoring h1b,,please let me know and i wil also keep calling the pharmacies for updates.

Hi Rockey!
I was worried about 2006 H 1b, I thought I was too late for apply because Rite Aid recruiter said is better to apply on april. About CVS a friend of mine is earning only U$S 12.25 per hour as intern in VA! CVS said that they don't have money for foreign pharmacist so you can do your internship with them but they are paying as a techinician.
As I heard the best chain in matter of salaries are Walgreens and Eckerds, they pay 30 to 36, and Rite Aid 20 to 25. So I guess I will apply for a position in FL with Walgreens.
I passed FPGEE and TOEFL and took TSE in march so I'm waiting for score, by the way I registered for May TSE test, so my FPGEEC will take some months in case I passed TSE.

Hi raissa,

I contacted many people for internships in Walgreens in florida,but they definitly need FPGEC certificate to sponsor h1b and similar the case with other pharmacies like CVS,ALBERTSONS.Though i have TSE 50,i couldnt find any employer at the moment.I dont know what to do as it takes more time to get the FPGEC certificate.I will definitly inform you if i find any employer.

I already applied for Florida Intern Licence last september,and i got a deficiency letter as i didnt provide them a copy of social security card.But,i will be considered for 500hours internship to take NAPLEX if i provide my Social security card copy before this september.So i am approaching recruiters with this letter and i am optimistic that i would get some one for my h1b sponsorship.Regarding your application i think you would be considered under new rule of above 2000hours to be eligible to take naplex and /intern licence?!! may its difficult to get a job offers in florida,as recruiters are not giving internships for those who are under new rule.But i wish u find some one soon.
