eligible for fpgee?.....UK pharmacist, help needed

    Hello everyone

I am new to this forum and i need your help

I am a Uk registered pharmacist planning to relocate to US as my family lives there. The problem is i finished my 4yr pharmacy degree after january 2003. Does this make me ineligible for FPGEE? or does my 1yr pre-registration year count towards a 5yr program?

If I am ineligible for FPGEE, what other alternative route is avaliable to me to register as a us pharmacist?

Would really appreciate your help and advice

Is there any UK pharmacist facing the same problem? would love to here from you

    Thank You

    Hi

i'm a UK pharmacist moving to US soon too (as my family lives there aswell), just starting the whole FPGEE process. I'm also unsure whether the pre-reg year counts but think i've read on a forum that is does. Tried to contact NABP but couldn't make sense of their reply. Please can u let me know if u find out.

Where abouts in the UK are u?

    UK Pharmacist

For UK pharmacists, the pre-reg year counts towards the 5 years, so a 4 year degree plus pre-reg year is fine. Your A'levels also count (the academic standard of UK A'levels is equivalent to the first year or so of an American undergraduate degree), so you will need to obtain official statements confirming your A'level results from the relevant examination board(s). This takes at least a month.

    Good Luck.

thanks for the info, am so relieved to hear that

I have asked NABP for an application form and they said it will take 2-3wks to send it.

This fpgee seems like a long and daunting process, guess we just have to sit it out.
