    Fpgee

    Hi
I am Juhi Shah.I am doing Pharmacy(B.Pharm-2nd year) from Mumbai university in India and I am US citizen.
When I come to US I have to give FPGEE exam for license and then NABP exam.
But after 2003 they required 5 years of education in the field.
Here my course is of 4 years and I will get degree of BPharm.
I want to inquire, how I will be eligible for the 5th year of pharmacy education.
Can I do one more year here doing M.Pharm or MS in any subject in Pharmacy in US and will be eligible for FPGEE.
Please Help If anyone already in this situation.

Even though you do one more year study, you are not eligible for FPGEE. Few institutes in india have started 5 year course. Either you can go for that or you would need to get admission in a 5 year course when you land in US. You can also take admission to a 2-3 year course. If you do that you don't have to appear for FPGEE.

In my opinion you must opt for M Pharm. in India, which is of 1 or 2 years and then you would be considered as equivalent of 5 years education in Pharmacy. There are numerous colleges like NIPER or Manipal COPS which give quality education.

Hi Charles Jain, I don't think M.Pharm helps. You could be a Phd if you want but that does not still qualify for the 5 year pharmacy program according to information from this forum.

Jhi Shah, before you take any big step, confirm from NABP.
