    Manhattan to Brooklyn

    Hello

I was wondering if anybody could help me, I'm staying in a hostel on west 95th street and I was wondering if anybody knew how long it owuld take to get to the test centre in Brooklyn.

I was planning a test run when I get to New York, but then I might as well get a taxi since we have to register at 7:30, on the day of the exam.

As suggestions will be much appreciated

When I was inquiring about hotels just 3-5 miles away from the test center, the hotel personnel said that even if it is 3-5 miles distance, in NY it can take you about 20 minutes by taxi to the test center-in worst case scenario....so see how far you are from exam center-- I would plan my trip accordingly. Check in mapquest.com to see distance.
I think its be*** it's "NY", other places in US aren't so crowded and crazily expensive.

    Hey Karishma:

It depends on where exactly the test center is in Bklyn. Which trains are you near? I live in NYC. I can help you. Usually it takes about 20-30 mins on the train. There is no need to take a cab! Just start a bit early. Let me know and I can help you more.

If you are nearer to Central Park, you can C-train (towards Euclid Ave) on 96th St - Central Park. This train directly goes to about 0.5 mi of Pratt (stop is Clinton-Washington Ave & Fulton St).

You can also change from C to G and get even closer to Pratt (change at Hoyt-Schermenrhorn Sts).

Just look at the maps of the C and G routes and you will get a much clearer picture.

It will take approximately 45 min for the entire trip and will only cost you $2.

If you are not nearer to Central park, better to catch a bus towards central park from your place and get on to C-train.

If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask.

I'm currently staying on W.95th Street, the closest subway is 96th and broadway which is on 1,2,3 lines. I'm just wondering what time I'll have to get up in the morning to get for 7:30, thats all. I'm not a morning person at the best times! Lol. I forgot to mention the exam is at the Pratt Institute on Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn

Thanx for all your help everybody
