Pls grade - the national college should raise...

The national college should raise the price that students pay for its partially govt funded courses in order to improve its financial performance. This increase will no doubt increase revenues while decreasing course volumes thus both improving the financial situation and decreasing the impossible work load that the college is experiencing

The author's conclusion of the above argument is valid. An improvement in the college's financial situation will definitely reflect in its future developments while decreasing the workload. However I am not convinced with the reasons projected.
Although the government finances the education partially, leaving just fifty percent of the balance to be filled by the applicant, there are other expenditures that one needs to take care of during student years. An increase in the former's percentage would primarily be out of reach of a number of students who although capable would not be able to pay for the balance amount. This in itself is a failure of the education system.
Apart from the revenues that keep a college going, what sets one college apart from another is the students it accepts. If a capable student is not admitted due to lack of funds, the whole purpose of an aid is dissolved. Hence in order to strike the right balance between having the best students as well as increased funds the college should retain the current price of education and find alternate means of improving their finances.
One of the best ways to do that is to introduce a policy where in students who benifit from an aid are mandatorily supposed to contribute to the school funds once they graduate. By doing this the college would not only have the best of the students but also increase its funds. Which can be used to hire additional staff, reduce work load and overall improvement of the education system and the college.
