Public buildings reveal much about the attitudes and values of the society that builds them. Today’s new schools, courthouses, airports, and libraries, for example, reflect the attitudes and values of today’s society. Issue of whether today's public buildings reflect values of today's society is controversial one. Some people believe that today's magnificent architectural buildings reflect mode modern society; however other people tend to believe equally strongly that today’s buildings do not reflect society's attitudes and values. After careful consideration of options, I believe current building structures reflect values of society. Society is made up of people. These members of society create public buildings. Values and attitudes of society are reflected in its members. While making public building, members do consider whether society will accept or use the building for its intended purpose. An interesting example of this is Twin towers. If twin towers were build like palace, public usage of it would not have been possible. People, Governments, and corporations build the building as per the requirement and for different purpose. Modern public buildings reflect attitudes and values of today's society. In current era of advanced technology and globalization, most of public building account different aspects such as space required for the building, usage, security. In one or the other way these aspects reflects society's values and attitudes. For example today's airports have become more secure than previous. This reflects that today's society has become more conscious about security of people. People are using more technology in daily life and technology does get reflected in modern public buildings. Modernization of buildings reflects modern society. This modern thinking has lead to creating buildings in less space however accommodating more people and fulfilling mode purposes. For example Twin towers were among one of world's highest buildings. These towers were utilized for different purposes like Govt. offices, corporate offices. In sum, public buildings do reflect our society's attitude towards looking at things. So I think, public buildings reflect society's values and attitudes.
