Pro

best way to do it
when they want advice they will come and ask for it
advices given proactively are not so effective
example from my life??? - advice for MBA?

Con
===
difficult to find what they want
sometimes ppl ask advice cos they dont know what they want

The author claims that the best way to advice people is to first find out what they want and then advice them how to
attain it. I completely agree with author that advices are more effective when the advicing person is aware of what the
advicee needs.
In fact, one could even state that authors way is the best way to provide advice. This method has an advantage in that
the advices are focussed and most relevant. In real life, when people need advice for a specific problem, they approach
experts in the field or someone who has already went through the same issue. Thus they will be in a better position to
advice on the problem at hand. This real life scenario aligns with authors observation on providing advice.
Some people tend to provides proactively without being aware of the issue at hand. Most often than not, these advices
tend to be pretty ineffective as they dont address the core issue. Also, many people react negatively when advices are
provided without them asking for it.
Some might argue that providing advice after knowing what they want could be an issue as in many cases people do not
know know what they want. They could be split between two choices and might need advice to narrow their choices or help
them make the choice. Even in this case, knowledge of what choice might benefit the person will go a long way towards a
successful advice.
In conclusion, I agree with the author that The best way to give advice to other people is to find out what they want
and then advise them how to attain it.
