The author states that of all the manifestaions of power restraint in the use of that power impresses people most. I agree with the author and this position is well justified.There are several reasons that this is true.

Firstly i would say that it is true that absolute power corrupts absolutly. But when someone has that absolute power and shows restraint in using it wins thepeoples hearts instantly.When there is restraint in power there is freedom for people and freedom everybody wants. If we look at the example of cuba my point will be very well elaborated.Fidel Castro oppresive government which does not use restraint of power has resulted in slowdown of the development of the countryas a whole. People want to leave their country to greener pastures to United States were they believe they will find freedom as their is use of power is justified and controls are in place for restraint of power. The movie "Scareface" starring Al Pacino as Tony Montana shows that a man running for freedom from his homeland.

Secondly we can look at the recent Iraq War. Where the USA has not shown any restraint of power in Iraq. Just because of its own vested interests US goes into war with Iraq defeats the oppresive rule of Saddam and then guess what establishes its own oppresive rule over there. The people their need freedom and their are fighting for it which is resulting in huge loss US casulties effecting both sides. Also after the Iraq war the image of US has further tarnished in some countries because of its lack of restraint in the use of power.

Lastly even at work place you can find restraint of use of power impressing people most. No one likes a dominating boss who uses all his powers by any means just to get his work done. Rather it is that boss who gains his subordinates respect who has positive working chemistry with his subordinates and creates that special bond by using less powers and still getting the work out of his subordinates.

In conclusion the above essay clearly demonstartes that restraint in the use of power does impress people. If you look in geo politics or in the workplace those who showed restraint in the use of power always found the road ahead much more easier to travel too.
