Use a template!! The templates are different for issue and argument. I used the templates from the Princeton Review and scored a 6.0. Also, you can go on the MBA.com website and find a list of topics that have been used. The Princeton Review website also has software (for a small price) that will score your essays to help you guage your ability. Essays are judged primarily by length, and secondly by organization. The actual novelty of your ideas does not matter as much.

Click on student tools at the top Create an account and log in Click on Business at the top Click on GMAT on the left Click on Free Practice Tools underneath the GMAT title Click on "Start your free GMAT practice test now" Then it will take you to the start up screen A couple more easy clicks and you will get to the pop up screen, click on Practice.
