Some employers who recruit college graduates for entry-level jobs evaluate applicants only on their performance in business courses such as accounting, marketing, and economics. However, other employers also explect applicants to have a broad background in such courses as history, literature, and philosophy.

Do you think, in the application process, employers should emphasize one type of background - either specialization in business courses or a more varied academic preparation - over the other ? Why or why not ?Develop your position by using reasons and/or examples from your own experience, oberservations, or reading.

First of all i dont know what stance to take for this argument. Since it depends on the job profile of the employer what type of job opening is it ? Does it require accounting/marketing/economic background or does it require history/literature/philosophy.

Should I mention in my argument that it depends on the job profile and it shouldnt be a more varied academic preparation ? And then sight examples as to why only the necessary courses are needed and not other ones which have no influence on the job profile.
