Gmater-1
Of the 1,000 companies responding to a certain survey, what percent indicated that they had a business recovery plan? 1. 200 of the companies did not indicate that they had a business recovery plan. 2. The number of companies that indicated that they had a business recovery plan was 4 times the number that did not indicate that they had a business recovery plan. OA coming soon
tpcool
IMO B very tricky question Looks like we need to consider companies that didn't respond either positively or negatively. So, total = br plan + no br plan + no response A is inusfficient B says that br plan = 4 (no br plan + no response) sufficient

Raj_Gmat
IMO it is D as it says every one has responded so some will be in favour and some will be against it.
mission800
@tpcool i think it shud be D bcos: (1) There cannot be any no. of companies that DID NOT repond either +vely or -vely, since 1000 companies DID paricipate in the survey, which means they must have given SOME response. If they didnt give any response, they wouldnt be counted as part of the survey, right? (2) If they DID respond, they either DID or DID NOT indicate their plan. Hence D
finsisher
IMO D is correct since every body responded so both the statements are suffficient to ans the question

zapped
What if survey was like: Do you have a business recovery plan? A) Yes B) No C) Yet to decide I don't think "yet to decide" is an option to consider. As we have to assume that the response was either yes or no. If you consider "yet to decide" as an option than the correct answer should be E. As in the second statement is says that 4 times saying no said yes. That still account for the ones who are "yet to decide"

That means 80% of the people said yes
ricks2
D it should be
hardikrs
IMO C, bcoz responses could be yes, no, not sure so using 1 and 2 we know 200 dont have a plan and those who have plan is 4 times those who dont = 800 800+200 = 1000 so C
