A three-digit number k,the units digit is non-zero, what is the tens digit?

(1) The tens digit of k+9 is 3

(2) The tens digit of K+4 is 2

 

ans is A ??? Can u pls explain

 

 

 

 

If X is decimal number, is the tents digit of X a zero?

(1) 16X is an integer

(2) 8X is an integer

(1) The number is X21 to X29. It CAN'T BE X30 because it says the Units digit isn't zero. And it can't be X31, because the tens digit would turn into four. So, sufficient. The tens digit MUST be 2.

 

(2) X16 - X25 would work (not X20, of course, but that doesn't matter). Thus, the tens digit can be 1 or 2. Insufficient.
