    Train schedule

A close friend of mine who is also preparing for GMAT posed this question to me.

Both of us do not agree with the Official Answer given. Would you try and help us out.

    Thanking in anticipation

    SPOILER:
The Official Answer is B - we think it should be D

Statement 1 is not sufficient because we don't know whether the train left station S on schedule.

I think statement 2 is enough to answer the question. It says she arrived at office at 830 which is 20 minutes from the station so she mush have arrive at the station at 810.Statemet 1 is not enough as we don't know if the train left on time.1 hour 2 mnts is the travel time we don't know if the train departed on schedule

Either of the statements is enough to ans. the question. The question wants to know wheter he makes it to station T on time. We do not care when he leaves statin X. All we care about is what happens at station T. I think the ans should be D

    1) Travel time is 1:02 but it doesnt tell the start and end times. Train might have started at 7:10 and arrived at 8:12 but scheduled arrival at Station T is 8:10. So train is not in schedule. But if train would have started at 7:08 then it would have come to station T at 8:10 which is on schedule. So insuff
    2) Sufficient.

    So it's B.
