obviously,statement 1 alone is not adequate to answer the question, because we need to know the probability to win that betty has

Now consider the two statements together:

P(Alex)=P(2head)
P(Betty)=P(0head)+P(1head)+P(2head)

Obviously, P(Alex)>P(Betty), so both statements are required to answer the question
