    Value of an expression.

    0.5r+0.05s=?

    1). 0.2r+0.02s=10

    2). 0.5s+0.2r=0.45s-0.3r

    A seems to be appropriate. Dividing A) by 2 and then multiplying it by 5 will give us an answer.

    Stmt (I)
    0.2r+0.02s=10

    => 0.1r + 0.01s = 5
    => 0.5r + 0.05s = 25

    Sufficient

    Stmt (II)
    0.5s+0.2r=0.45s-0.3r

    => 0.5s-0.45s + 0.2r+0.3r = 0
    => 0.5r + 0.05s = 0

    Sufficient.

    Hence (D)

    Ans should be D
    0.5r+0.05s=?
    5r/100 + 5s/1000
    => (50r+5s)/1000 => (10r+s)/200 =?

    Statement 1:
    0.2r+0.02s=10
    => 2r/100 +2s/1000 =10
    => 20r+2s=10000
    => 10r+s=5000
    substituting in stem, we get,
    5000/200=25(ANs)

    Statement2:
    0.5s+0.2r=0.45s-0.3r
    5s/100 + 2r/100 = 45s/1000 - 3r/100
    => 5r/100 = 45s/1000 - 5s/100
    => 5r/100 = (45s-50s)/1000
    => 50r=-5s
    => s=-10r
    substituting in stem,

    (10r+s)/200 =0(ANS)

    thanx

    D is right....
    B) can independently give the value as 0.5r + 0.05s = 0

    I need to learn to read the complete question.... patiently!!!

    I agreed with the approach. However, I am having problem with the fact that statement 1 gives a different answer than statement 2 does.
